Initial Visit Collaboration Reflection What? McCahon and Flox class went to visit May Road School. We walked over to work with them and also make some new friends. We all met in the hall. Hay park students also made some friends from May Road. So what? We went there to do our genius hour projects and work with them. Now what? My next step is to work with others.

Key Competencies Reflection term 2

This term I have been really good at relating to others and listening to their ideas. I am open to new ideas and ways to learn. Also I am be able to adapt to different roles, and to be able to collaborate in a group together. Although I am able to listen and respect others ideas in a group.

Another thing that I am really good at is managing myself when people are talking to me. I can take responsibility and behave on school field trips. I know how to manage myself and helps others to. I also know who to talk to and who not to talk to when it comes to doing my work.

The other thing I am really good at is participating and contributing. I understand the choices I make can affect myself and others. I can participate in group discussions and I will not be left out. An important thing is that I always share my ideas with the group that I am working with.

This is my presentation about mangroves. We have been learning about mangroves as part of our Oceans Topic. A famous photographer named Kenidy came to our school and taught us lots of interesting things about mangroves.

Thinglink: Ocean Currents

We have been exploring Thinglink and using it to create content which other people can use to learn from.
This Thinglink is about Ocean Currents.
Three things I have learnt about ocean currents are:

• Thermohaline currents are caused by temperature and salty water.
• Cold salty water is more dense then fresh water.
• Nutrients and oxygen can help circulate from the current.

This term we are learning about Marine Habitats. I have been learning about bull sharks.
Three cool facts are:

In class we have been using xtramath to practice our basic fact skills.

A green square means I can answer the questions quickly.

A yellow square means that I know the fact but I need to be fact.

A red x means I got it wrong and I need to work on it.

And a grey square means I did not answer the question.

My next step for xtramath is to get all my questions right.
